Wee Kitty

Did you pick up your freebie Wee kitty from Sylvia's blog the other week?  If you scroll back to the Valentine's Day post I think you might still be able to grab it.  Without Mr Mojo being around my card is rather plain, I simply coloured Wee kitty with my Copic pens and added a couple of layers of pretty Nitwits papers, a stamped tag and an organza bow.  Some of the layers are inked with Pumice Stone DI - but that's about it .. ..

The pretty rose paper is from the Always and Forever Too collection and the plainer piece from the So Berry Cute bundle that is reduced at the moment.  I've used Sahara Sand card from SU! for matting and Marianne die LR0242 to cut the pretty square layers.  The tag is cut with the plain die in the Winter Wishes set LR0187 and the text (Hero Arts I think) is stamped with brown Momento.

And I even decorated inside with a piece of the pretty rose paper then added a plain white square with an embossed stitched edge.  The text is an old Elusive Images stamp with plenty of white space for writing a message around it.

My apologies to the ladies on the Cute Card Thursday team that I haven't produced anything for the next challenge - something old.  It should have been an easy one for me, and I have a couple of Sarah Kay images coloured and ready but just can't get a card put together .. .. perhaps you can.  In hindsight I should have used this card for my Stampavie and More DT creation yesterday, and yesterday's LIM card for the something old at CCT (old brass stencil, text stamp, bits of pp and even the dies), ah well, too late to find a brain cell active now!  I wont bore you again with my personal saga .. .. not much to say other than I am expecting a visit this evening, hopefully!

The Sweet Stampin' blog challenge is for a Mother's Day creation, while at Totally Gorjuss it's for Happy .. .. and at the Allsorts challenge they are looking for animals.  I am risking scheduling this post as I'm having breakfast with Jason at the garden centre this morning as it's the last day to use my BOGOF full English voucher - and we do need to price up pond liners to put on the car port roof!

LIM Paper Pricking

My head is all over the place right now and my mojo long gone .. .. the attempts at making my DT cards have failed and ended up in the bin. Deep apologies to the girls on the Stampavie and More challenge for not having anything worth sharing for the next challenge - tags.

However, I did manage to have a go at the Less Is More challenge for paper pricking and created a passable card, I think!  The paper pricking is done with an Avec brass stencil onto kraft card, then cut out, I inked the edge and stamped the Hero Arts text with brown Momento before fixing to a small cream base card.  The Marianne diecut leaf and flower were already in my bit box, I simply drew around them onto the scraps of patterned paper then cut out and layered up with a pearl in the centre to finish off.

I'm sorry I haven't been up to visiting blogs and returning your comments, and I am truly grateful for your kind words - they have helped.  I didn't get the pc switched on at all yesterday as it was under a dust sheet!  Thankfully the crack in my bedroom wall has been filled and sanded so I just need to paint again - there is dust in and on everything and even when I think I've cleaned somewhere, a few hours later another layer of fine white powder has settled!  Ah well, it is keeping me occupied.  Yet another promise of a phone call from DH failed to happen last night.  I managed to leave a message this morning and he actually returned my call! I felt the conversation ended on a positive note and now I am nervously awaiting another promised call this evening, but the longer the minutes tick by the less confident I feel.  Am I being a fool to try and patch up a marriage that is not going to see us living together under the same roof for the foreseeable future .. .. it's certainly one of the major issues with our relationship with no clear solution.  I also have to learn to be more extrovert and take the opportunity to spend quality time with DH when he does manage to get down here .. .. not drag him off grocery shopping and then have to rush back to feed Mum.  So I have taken the first step and ordered my shopping on line .. .. and will have to risk leaving Mum to fend for herself a little more.  She has become very claustrophobic and hardly ever leaves her room these days, asking for her meals on a tray rather than joining us at the dining table (chairs are too hard and her ankles swell if she can't have them up).

Sympathy Card

I've not been up to crafting much the past few days, but had to make a sympathy card for Mum to send to one of her friends who has just lost her husband after a long illness.  I wanted the card to be subdued as befits the occasion, but also to be uplifting.  I decided the blue with touches of white on a beige base would fit the bill.

The image is a very old stamp by Elusive Images from one of the Oriental sets so possibly a fantasy flower.  Anyway, I've coloured with blue Copics B21, B24, B26 & B39 and a little bright pink RV34 & RV66 in the centre of the flowers for uplift.  For the leaves and stems I went for a blue green with BG72, BG75 & BG78.  I've inked around the edge of the image with Pumice Stone DI and also used it to edge the patterned paper.

Here's the card:

It's a tent fold A6 size and with nothing to stick out so went through the ordinary post.  The base and mats are Sahara Sand by SU! and the paper is from Nitwits Cottage Charm Too collection, and the pretty punched border I've had in my stash for ages - a gift from a friend.  The text on the front and inside is from a mini Sympathy set by Kaiser Kraft.

Plenty of white space so Mum could add a personal message for her friend.

Crafty Cardmakers have a blooming challenge running so I can enter my card with them.

On the home front I am sad to say there is no change and no news .. .. I have tried to phone but my calls are either being ignored or the reception is so bad where DH is that they are not being put through .. .. I wonder?  I have also tried emailing but that got bounced back .. .. still, it was a pleasant enough weekend.  Jason's girlfriend joined us and the two of them worked hard at levelling off and tidying up the garden.  We now have the space for cars off the road, once the surface has settled and we decide what kind of hard landscaping to put down.  Jason is designing and pricing up for a car port, possibly with a green roof .. .. sounds good and will make up to the environment for the hard landscaping we plan instead of the lawn!

I have still to start my DT cards for this week .. .. my mojo has definitely done a bunk so I'm not sure what I'll come up with.  Hopefully this evening I can set too and at least make a start.  The builder came back today to sort out some of the major cracks so I have dust sheets over the furniture in the bedroom until he finishes the job tomorrow .. .. then I will have to paint the wall again - along with the laundry room and Jason's bedroom - such a hassle!

Simplify

This week on Cute Card Thursday we are asking you to simplify your project, however and whatever that means to you!  Our sponsor for this challenge is Whimsy Stamps.

I have used the Twins stamp from Lili of the Valley, I treated myself to it a while back but have only just got around to inking it up and making a card.  I've coloured the image with my Copic pens to match in with the Spring Chic papers.

And here is my card, with no embellishments which for me is definitely simplifying things!  I've used just the one piece of paper then cut the mats with Marianne die LR0242 - and that's it!

I will be taking a bit of a blog break for a little while, hopefully not for long and I'm aiming to be able to complete my DT commitments for next week.  The family problems I mentioned are rather serious and for me totally confusing, please feel free to ignore the rest of my post.

For my dear friends who may have an idea of my situation, my DH walked out last Saturday just as we were about to sit down to dinner.  I have been talking to him on the telephone and was hopeful that there was something troubling him that I could help with.  What has confused the hell out of me is that I thought things were getting better and a fortnight ago we seemed to have turned a corner and were enjoying each others company once more. We have had our ups and downs over the past couple of years and with me living here looking after Mum and him away most of the time for work and only here at weekends, it has put a strain on our relationship, so much so that we have been in this situation a couple of times before, but in the end we have worked things out after a few days.  On Monday he was chatting as if nothing had happened - confusing me even more.  However, it seems that after he spent some time with his mother on Tuesday things have become decidedly worse and last night it was impossible to get him to talk about the situation, or anything much else.  I can only presume that his negative tone is because of what she has said to him - whatever that may be. On Monday he had said he would be here Wednesday evening so we could go out and have a talk, but he obviously had no intention of keeping that promise.  Having been in this situation several times since I moved here I am now totally emotionally drained, tired from crying and lack of sleep and just trying to keep busy with decorating tasks that are physically exhausting so I can be tired enough to sleep at night.  Even though I love him to bits, I am not sure if my own sanity and health can go through it all again, especially as this time it happened totally out of the blue and I don't know why.  I am left wondering what is going on in his mind, and I am trying to think what is best for me, but until I know what is happening it is difficult to make any decisions, even though in my heart I just want us to be together.

Wee Shelly

This little mermaid is Wee Shelly, she is the newest design from Sylvia at Wee Stamps and is available in rubber from Whimsy Stamps.  As usual I have coloured her with my Copic pens and then added little touches of Stardust Stickles.

For my card I went with a pale cream base and used the aqua and yellow papers from the Spring Chic paper pack along with some Baja Breeze card by SU! to cut my mats and pretty layers.  I have a mix of diecuts along with a piece of turquoise tinsel tied in a bow, turquoise gems, and to finish off I coloured the little pearl shell buttons with Copics to match the colour in my image.

The circular fancy diecut behind my image is by Nellie's Choice, all others are by Marianne:
base scallop in blue and yellow layer from LR0242, daisies from LR0106 and the pink fronds from LR0107.

The Papertake Weekly challenge is for buttons and bling - my little shell buttons and the tinsel and Stickles for the bling.

The internet is playing up again tonight - so sorry I'm not able to get around to visiting many of you, I will keep trying.

hugs x

Sweet Blossom

This is the forth card I have made with the adorable Sweet Blossom from Wee stamps, she maybe an oldie but certainly a top goodie! You can find her in the digi store here, or at Whimsy Stamps in rubber.  I have coloured Sweet Blossom with my Copics then inked the edge with Pumice Stone DI before mounting on this C6 tent fold card.

The background paper is from Nitwits Always and Forever Too pack and is printed out A4 size, which I think looses some of the definition .. .. I am still getting to grips with printing and trying to get the colours to appear the way I think they should.  Thankfully pinks seem to be ok, but gold colours are turning out olive green! Anyway, it's a simple card and simply embellished with punched flowers and a butterfly, the gross grain ribbon and a stamped text on a little label diecut from Marianne LR0240.

And I've decorated the inside again .. .. simply with white card, a strip of the same paper, a little stamped text and a spray diecut from LR0151 (same as on the front of the card).  I've added some tiny pink gems to tie in with the front, they are fairly flat so shouldn't interfere with closing.

A couple of challenges I can enter, the Cutie Pie challenge is for pretty pastel colours, and Addicted to Stamps are looking for touches of Kraft - I have my base card, one of the scallop circle mats and the text mat all done with kraft card.  I was going to post this card yesterday but couldn't get the internet to play long enough to do it .. .. fingers crossed it works today as I have something new and exciting to share with you this evening!

Wee Holly

This little lass is Wee Holly, she is a digi here, or as a stamp from Whimsy Stamps here, although currently showing as OOS.  I've coloured her with my Copic pens to tie in with the scraps of Nitwit Always and Forever digi papers I had sat on my desk.  The Stampin' For The Weekend challenge is for some distressing on your creation, and wow was my weekend distressed!  What with slow internet and family problems I've not been around much so will have to play catch up again!

Here's my card, it's a C6 size kraft base, then I've cut a red layer from Coredinations card and distressed the edges with an emery board.  I've inked the edges of the papers and the base card with Jumbo Java Versamagic chalk ink, but forgot to ink the edge of my image. To embellish I've added a length of green lace from Marianne and diecut the poinsettias and tags, also taking the emery board to distress them too, then adding the tiny pearls to finish things off.

I even went so far as to decorate the inside too - simply done with a strip of patterned paper, a square of white with an embossed edge and stamped text greeting, and finally a single layer poinsettia.  Marianne dies I've used: the mini poinsettia set LR0142 and the tags cut from the Winter Wishes set LR0187.

The Christmas Card challenge is to add tags or make a tag, as you see I've added a double tag to my card.

As it's taken me several hours to get this post finished I'm going for a cuppa, or maybe something stronger, before I attempt to try and catch up with you all .. .. cheers!

Wee Ruby

This little lady is Wee Ruby, available from the Wee digi stamps store or in rubber from Whimsy Stamps.  I've coloured her with my Copic pens - don't you just love those long luxurious locks - wish I had hair like that!

Here's my card.  I've matted with kraft and white card and used Pumice Stone DI around the edges.  The papers are by Nitwits, a mix of freebie magazine and the Cottage Charm Too paper pack I just treated myself too. Not too many embellishments on this one as it may need to get through the post, although those pearls will no doubt push it into the 'large' letter range.  I've coloured white card with Copics so I could punch out the flowers to match the ones I coloured in the image.  The butterflies are the tiny Nellie's Choice punch and emboss set, the other bits and pieces are Marianne dies:

lace edge also used to emboss around the text tag LR0161
text tag LR0187
leaf frond LR0151

The ABC challenge blog are on to the letter H for Happy Birthday, so I can enter my card with them.  And, the Magnolialicous challenge is now including Wee images so I can also enter their birthday challenge too!

The internet is playing up again - it's the weekend and the holiday makers have arrived here in Cornwall for the half term break consequently the system keeps crashing.  Thank you for the comments that you have left me and I will get around to visiting as soon as possible.

Pets

The challenge this week on Totally Papercrafts is Pets, and we have two sponsors for this challenge, Doodle Dragon and Inky Impressions - please stop by the blog to read the details.

I've used this cute stamp by Stampavie in the Sarah Kay collection, called simply Jean Luc, a little lad playing ball with his puppy.  I've coloured the image with my Copic pens to match the papers I just treated myself too - they are from the Nitwit Cottage Charm Too collection along with a plainer blue piece that came with a magazine, but still Nitwits.  I've spent hours browsing trying to find some of the freebie papers that I like in the digital collections!

Anyway, I got Jason to print out the brown daisy print and the taupe stripe at A5 size to save on paper and ink, then I've cut the pieces, inked the edges with Jumbo Java Versamagic chalk ink and matted with Sahara Sand card by SU!  I've used the same ink on the embossed areas of my diecut leaves and daisies then cut a few red fronds and a little button before finishing off with the stars from my waste jar and little bits of string.  I wasn't sure what occasion I would use this card for so decided against adding a sentiment, that way it can be a note card, or anything that takes my fancy!

Just a few Marianne dies on this one, the leaves from LR0255, and the daisies and red sprays from LR0106.

Charisma Cardz have an anything goes challenge this week, and Crafty Catz are playing bingo - my line is the diagonal to include embossing (on my diecuts), dies and or punches, and flowers - Bingo!

Love Me Do!

Today is Wee Stamps 2nd birthday and the launch of Sylvia's new Wee 'Love Me Do!' digi design available in the Wee digi store, with the rubber stamp version available from Whimsy Stamps very soon.  And, for the next 24 hours, that's until 5pm GMT tomorrow, Sylvia is offering a 20% discount on all digi orders over £5, and that includes this adorable new one!  The discount code you will need to enter at the check out is: WEEVALENTINEDAY.

And if that wasn't enough, Sylvia also has a cute kitty digi FREEBIE on her blog so do stop by and pick him up!

I have coloured the bride and groom image with Copics then added Stardust Stickles around the edge and on the edge of my scallop mat too.

Now my 'card' is actually waiting for a bigger base so that it will open without the pointy bit at the bottom getting pushed out .. .. I will have to order a pack of 8x8 cards.  Here my base is a square of textured white card with the edge inked in Orchid Brilliance pearlescent ink.  For the flowers I diecut the layers from scraps of smooth white card then laid them on top of the ink pad and gently tapped to pick up the ink randomly .. .. very messy but I think it worked and the finished flowers at least tie in with the colour scheme.  The text is a LOTV stamp also inked in Orchid then cut with a circular flower die.  The papers are from the Spring Chic pack and to finish I've added the scrunchy organza ribbon and the pearls'

All the diecuts are from Marianne, here's the list:
diagonal layers cut with LR0242
little scallop hearts from COL1307
flowers with CR1202
leaves LR0255
text cut out with large flower from CR1201
key LR0193

Moving Along With The Times have a Love Is In The Air challenge, at Crafty Creations it's love and/or hearts, at Divas by Design it's Love and Romance, Creative Inspirations would like you to send with love, Totally Gorjuss are looking for love, and at Papertake it's hearts and flowers.

Lots of Layers!

I've been waiting all morning to post my DT card for the challenge at Stampavie and More, this time around is for lots of layers - on my card there are 5 layers between the base and the image making seven in all! It seems there is a delay but I'm not sure what's up and my internet gets worse as the day goes on, so here's my card. I have stamped up one of my old vintage wooden Penny Black stamps called Beau Tied and coloured with my Copic pens then sat and carefully fussy cut it out - phew it took a while!

Here's a close up of my colouring and cutting .. .. but don't look to closely!

And here is my card.  I've used the pretty Spring Chic papers again along with pastel blue card for the base mat and my corners.  The central layers are all from the Marianne die LR0180, two layers with the scallop edge and one embossed cut out layer.  With so much going on in the image and all those layers, plus the embossed corners (LR0143) I didn't think I needed to add anything else!

There are lots of 'loved up' challenges out there just now, so here's a few I've picked out to link up my card:
Daring Card Makers, One Stop Crafts and Crafty Catz all with Love is in the Air.

Wee Love You Bunches

I have another Wee lass to share with you today, this little girl is called Thanks a Bunch and is available as a digi from the Wee Stamps digi store, or in rubber from Whimsy Stamps, and here in the UK from Bunny Zoe's Crafts.  I've coloured her with my Copics and fancied some bright cheerful shades to cheer me up!

I've used some of the spring green shades from the Spring Chic paper pack but got a bit stumped when it came to my floral embellishments .. .. I wanted bright colours but also didn't want to detract from the cute image, plus trying to mirror the shape of the flowers as well ... .. so in the end I diecut these ones.  It's growing on me - a bright cheery spring card that I could use as a thank you, just because, birthday or even Mother's Day - hence the Happy Wishes circle rather than a specific text greeting.  To finish I added the scrap of pink gross grain ribbon with a little button centre and the pearls for the centres of the flowers.

For the diecuts - all Marianne of course - I used:
Fancy circle with inked embossed areas as well as the scallop mat behind my image cut with LR0141
Flowers from LR0105 and LR0107 with centres from CR1210
Swirls from LR0111 and leaves from LR0162

For inking the embossed areas and edges of my papers I've used Tea Leaves Versamagic chalk ink.  I get on better with the chalk inks than with the Distress Inks as I find it less likely that I'll over-ink, plus I like the soft opaque effect they give.

I'll enter my card into the Sweet Stampin' blog challenge for pearls and swirls, and the Addicted to Stamps challenge have the same theme, and at Bunny Zoe's Monthly challenge it's for flowers and pearls.

Monday 11 February 2013

Wee Peggy

This little miss is called Wee Peggy and is available as a digi image from the Wee Stamps Store, or as a rubber stamp from Whimsy Stamps, although she is currently OOS on the main store site but you might find her at Bunny Zoe's here in the UK.  I've coloured her with my Copic pens to match the pretty digi papers from Nitwits Spring Whimsy Too collection - the peachy tones are E93 and E95.

And here is the card I made.  I coloured a length of pink organza ribbon with E95 as well as a scrap of card with E93 & E95 so I could punch out the little flowers then backed them with a Marianne open flower.  I've used a Martha Stewart punch to decorate the edges of my horizontal layers before finishing with the green swirls to tie in with the leaves in my image, little butterflies and peachy pink gems.

I've used just a few Marianne dies on this card: The swirls and open flowers are from set LR0 and the butterflies are from LR0

It seems that Mr Blogger has has an off day as I can only go back 12 hours on my blog roll, thankfully I keep a notebook and write down the challenges that might interest me .. .. and the ABC challenge with the letter G for going dotty fits with my card!  At Moving Along With The Times it's only girls allowed, and the Papertake Weekly challenge is anything goes (with the option of using lemon, which I haven't).

I've been up and down a bit myself over the weekend, and feeling incredibly tired, so perhaps I've been trying to do too much too soon after the nasty virus that is knocking everyone for six finally cleared up. The internet played up, as usual, so I didn't get to do any blogging or visit anyone - lots of catching up to do now! Trouble is, on the DIY front we can't leave holes in walls or wires dangling especially as it's Mum's end that we have made a start on.  Jason tells me that we will have to do the kitchen floor sooner rather than later as the underfloor heating controls will be in a little bit of wall that is included in this phase of the work .. .. so I have to go looking for tiles with him today. He is doing all the hard work - I'm just chief tea maker and queen of the dustpan and brush, mind you, I have been known to take a hammer and hit at the walls that are coming down - wow does that feel good!

Love Stuck

Sorry for my late posting - I've been struggling with a migraine as well as trying to help out with the DIY, not a good combination as the one aggravates the other.  But here I am at last with my DT card for this week's Cute Card Thursday challenge "Love Struck".  Our sponsor for this challenge is a favourite of mine, Bunny Zoe's Crafts with a £10 certificate for our winner.

I have used the adorable Lili of the Valley stamp 'I do' and coloured with my Copics - not much colouring as I wanted to keep her gown predominantly white just adding a little RV000 around the lace edge and in the folds and then a touch of Stardust Stickles.  His tux is coloured with the cool greys and the darker pinks are RV32 & 34 as they are the best match to the pink papers from the Spring Chic pack I'm breezing my way through!

Here's the card.  I found the little heart stamp with the swirls in my box, it is ancient and came as one of a set of three wood mounted stamps, another of the designs is the scribbled heart I've stamped on the plain diecut pink heart layer.  I cut out the swirl hearts and fixed with 3d pads to add a little interest to the top of the card.  I've used Orchid Pink Brilliance pearlescent ink for the stamping and on the edges of the layers.  And you can see some of the flowers I made and showed you yesterday, these have pink stamen centres then little AB gems to pick up the Stickles, and as there are hearts on the same sheet I added 3 to the bottom corner for even more bling!

The Marianne dies I used on this card are:
large scallop white heart and pink heart CR1225
little scallop white heart with pink heart centre COL1307
flowers created from flower dies in CR1203
pink stamens from LR0105
pink skeleton leaves from LR0156

The Fab 'n' Funky challenge is for Valentine's or Hearts and their prize is from LOTV - always an incentive for me to join in!  The Kreative Stamping Friends also have the Valentine's or Hearts theme, while My Time To Craft and Incy Wincy Designs both have Love is in the Air as their theme.

WOYWW making flowers

Well here's my table, what a mess!  Everything has just been piled up and not put away - I'm a bad girl!  But I do have an excuse .. ..

I'm still busy helping with the DIY but managed to find a little time to make paper flowers for a project I have in mind .. .. So, for today's WOYWW over on Julia's blog  I've taken time out to show you how I make them.  I've used the two smaller flower dies from Marianne's Craftable square doily CR1203 - for each flower you will need to cut two pieces .. ..

To show you, I've used a gold paper.  For the larger flower you will have to snip in towards the centre so it looks like the cut smaller one.

To create the shape you start by rolling the sides of the petals, one edge under and the other edge upwards.  You can see the smaller flower on the top I've done both sides of the petal but on the larger flower at the bottom I've just started and only done one edge .. .. ..

Once you have finished rolling you need to press the centre of the flower with a ball tool to create further shape .. .. ..

Then turn over and glue the bottom of one of the flowers  before sticking the two together. Try to stagger the petals so you get more detail.  Use the ball tool again to press into the centre to make sure the two pieces are stuck together and to redefine the shape again .. .. ..

Finish off your flowers with a punched or diecut stamen and a gem.  Here you can see I've finished the gold flowers but still have to add the centres to my white ones.  I hope you found the pictures helpful, it was difficult to decide what to show .. .. if you have any questions please just shout!

Now it's back to the DIY.

Birthday Wishes

When the North wind blows my internet goes! And it's been blowing for days and getting worse.  Fingers crossed I get to load this post .. .. I gave up on it yesterday.  This little Sarah Kay stamped image was one I coloured a while back but hadn't managed to put a card together, then Mum asked me to make a birthday card for her to send to my sister so this is what I came up with. I've coloured with my Copics to match the Nitwit freebie papers that came in a magazine, ages ago.  I've been browsing the Nitwit shop to try and find them - does anyone know which collection they are in?

Apart from those very pretty papers, I've used SU! card in Sahara Sand and the new Primrose Petals to cut my mats and embellishments.  Most are Marianne dies, apart from the pretty lace mat behind my text - that's a Nellie's Choice die.  I've finished with a lace bow, a button from my box and of course the pearls.

So here's the list of Marianne dies for you:
oval mat around my image is LR0240 with the middle cut out
flowers from LR0129 and LR0130 layered up
skeleton leaves from LR0228
red spiky fronds from LR0192
butterflies from LR0158

Totally Gorjuss are looking for lace this time around, Fun With Shapes and More are asking for 3 patterned papers plus pearls, lace and flowers - check! And at the One Stop Craft blog challenge it's anything goes!

Not sure when I will get around to blogging again as I'm busy helping Jason with the DIY - even if it is just holding bits of wood whilst he saws and hammers then clearing up the debris.  Yesterday was destruction day, so hopefully today we can start to rebuild - who knew moving a door was so complicated!

Sweet Tweet

I have some very exciting news to share with you today ... ... I was asked to be one of the February Guest Designers for Sylvia's Wee Stamps digi designs - and of course I said yes!  So today's DT card for Totally Papercrafts uses one of the Wee digi designs - in fact it's a freebie so if you want it just go to Sylvia's blog and grab it!

This week at Totally Papercrafts we want to see your own hand made embellishments so lots of scope for punching and die-cuting pretty bits and pieces to decorate your paper-crafted project.  We have two sponsors for this challenge, Alota Rubber Stamps and Saturated Canary digi designs - please stop by the challenge blog to read all about the prizes.

Here's my card.  I've coloured the image to match the pretty Spring Chic papers, those 50 sheets are disappearing fast now! I've kept things simple, but sweet I think, and gone for a little die cut lace edging, swirls and flowers.  To get the flowers to match I scribbled the Copic colours onto plain white card before punching and die-cuting my flowers then added the Stardust Stickles to bling things up a little.  The text is stamped with Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid ink and I've also inked the edges of my patterned paper with it too. The Marianne dies on this one are:
corners LR0143
swirl and open flower LR0112
lace edge LR0161

Moving Along With The Times have a punch it out challenge this week so perfect for my card to enter!  My Time To Craft have a things with wings theme so my little love birds should fit that bill!
